I was trying to get some shots of a grasshopper which was perching in between leaves when I spotted this young chameleon hidden in the leaves. I didn't manage to capture the grasshopper but was quite happy to spot this little fella.
Although slow moving, it took me a few attempts to get some closer shots because any slight movement will startle the little lizard. He spotted me taking his picture but luckily he wasn't camera shy.

What incredible captures! These must have been difficult to catch.

ReplyDeleteOh wow, why can't I see lovely exotic creatures in my walk? I did see a critter which commenters say was a grasshopper. Hop on over to my site to see if that was indeed a grasshopper.
ReplyDeleteI believe that you must have been using your new DSLR.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful capture.
This is a beautiful chameleon. Love the first photo! :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow! I'm fascinated with the way his skintone changed from orange to green, halfway down his torso.
ReplyDeleteMy Photo Hunt entry is up at http://bonggamom.blogspot.com/2010/01/photo-hunt-spotted.html
Great captures!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
A great capture! You are very brave because they look scary. Are they what we call 'kai kong seh' or cockerel snake? Don't they bite?
ReplyDeleteWow!!! Grasshoppers are fine and well but chameleons... let's just say I have quite a few photos of grasshoppers but not of a single one of a chameleon... So... well done!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to have a Chameleon! Ever read "Music for Chameleons"?
ReplyDeleteI did this week's last week, so did last week's this week...
You captured it beautifully!
ReplyDeleteDid it give you a fright!? i would be frightened. :P
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh it is cute entry. Happy hunting...Mine is u too.
ReplyDeleteSure, he isn't shy. He likes to be captured in lenses, hehee. I like the second shot, the focus is clear while the background blurs. Now, your photographic skill is talking.
ReplyDeleteIt's too cold for creatures like that here right now.
ReplyDeleteI played too :)
That is so cool that you can find these wonderful creatures near by. You did a great job getting the shot also. They can be quick to move.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. I played, too
ReplyDeleteHe's beautiful. Really glad you spotted him with his little spots. Certainly another interesting theme with lots of different takes. I’m glad I came and saw yours.
ReplyDeleteI took a little different angle. You can drop by and check mine here.

In the 2nd pic, the lower body has changed colour to camouflage!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute spotted little critter !
ReplyDeleteHow cute this little guy is! And, he has spots that make him all the cuter! Great find and captures!
ReplyDeleteThe second shot is just gorgeous! Looks like a model with a great pose!
ReplyDeleteWah, very nice with the sharpness in detail and the delicious bokeh!
ReplyDeleteBtw, it's not a chameleon. It's a changeable lizard (calotes versicolor) which is common in Southeast Asia ;)
Good morning LR, yikes!!!
ReplyDeleteThe shots are awesome but the Mr. L ain't cute at all huhuhuhu.....
ReplyDeleteI would have not dared to venture close and snap my camera....suddenly the fella pounce on me how? Huhuhuhu....
ReplyDeleteHave a great day sweetie! :)
ReplyDeletewow great shots LR!! ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday dearie :)
ReplyDeleteyou are so lucky to have capture it! i had a few tries myself, but always failed. i guess that is the good thing about having a dslr, you don't have to stand as close as required as a camera phone. nice shots! :)
ReplyDeleteAmazinggg Snaps Life!
ReplyDeleteInteresting shots! I was not so lucky usually. When they saw me approaching, they would be running away in a flash.
