PhotoHunt - Ooooo, Path

Both photos were captured at Swarovski near Innsbruck.

DSC_0912
A hand-shaped maze where you have to find the path from start to end. Can you find the right path through the maze? Oooooo.....I don't know how they do it but I'd definitely get lost in there.

Here's the path towards the alpine mountain range. I can't help but ooooo and aaaaah at the spectacular view. :)

Our World - Innsbruck Railway station, Austria

I think this is one of the most beautiful railway stations I've seen but I only had a few minutes to take photos of this place. My hubby and I were literally racing against time to catch our train to Salzburg.

As we hurriedly walked past, this empty track with gorgeous mountains in the distance caught my eye and I couldn't resist a shot.

Here is another perspective showing the arrival of a train and the buildings.

I was really glad I had just enough time to take one more photo before we hurried on board.

Goodbye Innsbruck!

PhotoHunt - Patch

An eye-catching building I spotted in Innsbruck. I love the patch work facade, it looks colourful and intriguing.

And here's one in Salzburg. Carriage horses wearing blinders, to keep them from being distracted or spooked.

My World - Swarovski Crystal World

Does the name Swarovski ring a bell to you? I'm sure most of you have heard of it. Swarovski is the brand name for a wide range of precisely-cut crystal glass and other related luxury products. They have been world famous for over a hundred years.

DSC_0874
During our last trip to Innsbruck, we made our way to the Swarovski Kristallwelten (Crystal World) at Wattens.

DSC_0868
The entrance to Swarovski's crystal-themed park Kristallwelten/Crystal World features a giant head fountain and he spouts waterfall, like a flowing tongue into a fountain pool. He also has huge crystals eyes and it portrays the sense that someone is always watching over your shoulder.

DSC_0885
Inside the museum, you will find fascinating world of art all involving around the theme of crystals. Unfortunately, it was not opened when we arrived but having to enjoy the views of the surrounding was good enough for me though. Its setting alone is breathtaking. I spent quite a fair amount of time wandering around taking pictures.

DSC_0888
The vast area is surrounded by mountainous snow capped alps and instantly, I was filled with a soothing sense of tranquility and the richness of my surroundings.

DSC_0913
We climbed up the observatory and here we noticed a shrubbery maze which looks pretty cool but we didn't venture in.

DSC_0900-1
In addition to the Swarovski museum, there is also a Swarovski factory where crystal is produced and shipped all over the world.

DSC_0877
Along the way, we spotted the large format letters all encrusted with thousands of Swarovski Crystals in colours spell out the message YES TO ALL. Gazing at the sparkling crystals, I can't help wondering how much the crystal embellishment costs them.

DSC_0925
If you are into crystals, specifically Swarovski and you're in Innsbruck for a visit, go to the museum and garden in Wattens. There will be something to take your breath away.

Directions:Follow the signs Kristallwelten which is available everywhere in Wattens.

PhotoHunt - Natural

I'm sharing some natural scenery shots I took in Innsbruck, Austria during late winter this year.

The natural wonders of the Alps has always intrigued me. I enjoy the crisp fresh air, the beautiful snow-capped mountains with an abundance of natural greenery. No matter which angle you look, the natural landscape just blows you away. Wouldn't it be amazing to wake up to such natural beauties every morning?

SkyWatch Friday - Winter In Innsbruck

We saw some wonderful landscapes in Austria and Innsbruck was one of our favourite spots. It was cold winter and we were pleasantly surprised by the radiant sunshine and cloudless blue skies that greeted us. The weather showed us some of the beautiful and colourful sights of Innsbruck with the sweeping views of the Alps in the distance. Here are some random shots of the city as we walked along.
