One of the best things I love about photography is capturing good memories that you can remember forever.

Skywatch over Santorini
These were captured during our volcano tour in Santorini. While waiting for our tour boat to arrive, we did some skywatching. The weather that day was nice for a day out with beautiful sky and clouds and not too hot, with cool sea breeze blowing through.

Another perspective view at the old port in Fira, Santorini.

Skywatch - Blue landscape, Santorini
This is one of the best places to grab a latte and watch the boats and cruise ships sail by from the Imerovigli Hotel in Santorini.

A breathtaking view of an active volcano (a.k.a caldera) from the hotel terrace.

A perfect spot to skywatch and a peaceful place filled with pleasant memories.

My World - Fancy artwork
I spotted these figurines on a ladder of an unknown building in Santorini. I've no idea what the sculpture represents but it looks quite intriguing and unique. I really like the look of that installation art work and I couldn't leave without taking a few shots of our statue friends.
It features one figurine stood perched on the ladder while the other two working their way up to the top.
Like this one holding a rose.

PhotoHunt - One
Both photos are captured in Santorini.
A view of one boat gliding through the still waters. I love the V-shaped wake pattern and the reflections of setting sun in the water.
And here's one lone dog enjoying the spectacular view of Oia.

PhotoHunt - Together
These were captured during our boat excursion to the volcanic island of Nea Kameni in Santorini.

It was an awesome ride that brings together all the beautiful sights of the volcanic landscape.

A typical view of the caldera cliffs that can be seen almost everywhere from the boat.

The cliffs around the bay house many species of seabirds. If only those birds could talk, I'm sure they would have interesting stories to tell.

Visitors enjoying the spectacular views along the way and taking photos.

My hubby and I were happy that we made friends on the boat, learned about the history of the island and most of all enjoying the magnificent views from the water together.

My World - Santorini countryside
A ride through the beautiful countryside of Santorini is one of the most enjoyable experiences for me. It is hard to not be totally awestruck by the beauty of it all.
We made our way from Fira to Oia and the pleasant ride takes us on a greenery landscape along the countryside of Santorini.
Here are some glimpses of my journey through my lens.

The typical white-washed villages are characteristic features of the Santorinian countryside.

Here, the greenery seems endless. Around the next bend, greens stretching as far as the eye can see. I could not believe how much green I saw!

The tranquil landscape arouses the feelings of home and family life with quiet villages and quaint cottages along the breathtaking ocean views.

We passed yet another splendid view along the way.

I truly enjoy the countryside, quite different from other European countries and re-looking at these photos once more and writing about it makes me want to go back to Santorini someday.
I hope you enjoy looking at these photos as much as I have enjoyed taking them.

PhotoHunt - Looking Down
Here are some pictures of a glorious spring day taken during our getaway in Santorini last year.

A great view looking down from the top of Santorini's village of Oia. It was such a thrill to look down the cliffs that have fascinating shapes and colours.

As we wandered around, we stopped at various points of the journey to take photos and from here you can see those villages and steeple perched precariously on top of cliffs.

From another view, I love this shot from the top looking down into the cliff and the rays of light reflected by the setting sun.

The tranquil turquoise sea looks so beautiful but looking down can a bit freaky as it's a long way down and I'd be afraid of toppling over at any time.

PhotoHunt - Mostly Black
This is a volcanic island of Nea Kameni at Santorini and it was my first ever visit of a volcanic tour. I've written a post about this place previously but I've more photos to share.

These are our tour boats moored at the harbour with the black lava surrounding the lagoon.

On the way up to the craters created in 1928, sparse vegetation can be seen within the black stony terrain.

It's quite common to see mostly black volcanic boulders and rocky slopes along the path

As we moved upward, we stopped at various points of the trek to take photos and from here you can see the different colours of volcanic eruptions but mostly black lava stones which formed the island.

A black patch of lava had filled across the crater formed during the last eruption in the 50's.

The wall of the crater shows the steaming sulfur vents which reminds us that the volcano is still very much active. The higher we climbed the hotter it got and then we started feeling the intense heat beneath our feet and the energy from the crater. The really scary thing about this is that we don't know when the volcano will erupt again.

PhotoHunt- Silhouette (s)
Sunset is one of my favourite times of the day to take pictures and here are some of my attempts at silhouettes:

My husband in silhouette enjoying the end of the day at Santorini.

Silhouettes of small fishing boats in Port Dickson.

A glowing sunset with silhouette of bare tree branches.
