Universal Studios Singapore - Far Far Away
One of the top attractions in Universal Studios Singapore is the Land of Far Far Away, which houses the Shrek 4-D adventure.
Just like any other Universal Studios zone, the attention to detail in the buildings was literally impressive as if I really had landed in Far Far Away.
While I'm pleased that Singapore is getting more tourists dollars, I'm not very happy about the crowds. Despite the long queue, I was hesitant to get in line as this was the ride we mainly came to the park for. I think it took us around an hour to enter the castle.
From the moment we stepped inside, we were warmly welcomed by King Harold and Queen Lilian. A series of fascinating posters of Shrek and gang are also located within the waiting area.
And here we are at the movie theatre, complete with specially-created "OgreVision" glasses, as we joined Princess Fiona and Shrek in their fairy tale kingdom. The seats jolt you at all the appropriate times and you are bombarded with bursts of fine water spray and vibrations to give you the excellent 4D experience. We enjoyed every minute of it and it's something not to be missed if you're in Universal Studios.
Coming out from the Shrek 4-D Adventure, we happily made our way to the Fairy godmother's potion shop where you can find a variety of Shrek memorabilia, fantasy candies, drinks, colorful elixirs and gifts.
There was also a Magic Potion Spin in the world of Shrek but my kids were too big for this.
Fairy Godmother's juice bar is also located in this corner where you can choose a unique concoction of magical potions.
Another cool attraction we enjoyed was ‘Donkey Live’ show featuring Shrek's annoying sidekick, the Donkey. As always, he never fails to amaze and entertained anyone with his quick-witted sense of humour. Hosted by Hook, the show brings a lot of fun and joy to enlighten your day.

Our World - Universal Studios Singapore (Transformers: The Ride)
If you’re a fan of the Transformers movie franchise, there's every reason to visit Universal Studios Singapore. This is where you'll find the next-generation 3D thrill ride that blends fiction and reality. The main character of this adventure is an Autobot named EVAC created for the attraction, that escorts visitors through the experience.
Even though it is nothing like a roller coaster, there're lots of fun twists and turns in this ride, so if you're prone to motion sickness be warned.
The queue was extremely long when we visited but worth the wait, especially if you’re a diehard fan of the series. It really does feel like you're right in the middle of the ultimate Transformers war zone between the Autobots and Decepticons. We enjoyed every moment of it.
Here's Bumblebee perched atop the entrance greeting visitors.

Our World - Universal Studios Singapore: Madagascar
A visit to Madagascar zone allows visitors to meet the wacky Madagascar characters including Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hippo and the notorious penguins. My kids enjoyed it so much that we stayed here for a few hours just for this attraction.
The land's entertaining attraction is A Crate Adventure, an indoor boat ride based on the popular Dreamworks animated movies. While some people have described the ride as a little too tame, it suits me just fine and I think that is exactly what makes it a friendly family ride.
If you're a big fan of the movie and have a soft spot for the characters then you’ll enjoy every moment of it. There are some fun surprises and whimsical things from characters positioned at various junctures throughout the ride.
Another fun attraction we enjoyed was King Julien’s Beach Party-Go-Round, a massive carousal with Madagascar characters but my only disappointment was the ride was way too short.
After the ride, we had lunch at Marty's Casa Del Wild which was based on the restaurant owned by Marty the zebra in the movie. The food was not particularly delicious but I loved the innovative setting of the restaurant.
The characters also performed the theme song' I Like To Move It', what a great entertainment! I didn’t notice Marty the Zebra in the live performance though, he’s my all-time favourite and Melman the giraffe was probably too tall, so I think the star attraction of this show was the fun-loving lord of the lemurs, King Julien.
Before moving to another zone, I couldn't leave without taking a few shots of our friends. I thought the best way to bring them home was through my photos. :)

Our World - Universal Studios Singapore : Hollywood
Continuing on my previous post on Universal Studios Singapore, our first adventures begin in Hollywood Boulevard where it serves as the park's main entrance and is lined with vibrant architecture, palm trees, restaurants and stores selling Disney merchandise.
One of the main attractions here is the broadway-style musical show which is home to the Monster Rock, a live performance featuring the infamous Universal monsters. It was still early and not opened when we arrived but closed at 7:00pm when we tried to visit in late evening.
This is the Universal Studios store, filled with souvenirs from clothing and brand merchandise to awards and toys.
Everything looks enticing and I spent more than SGD100 in this store alone!
Along the boulevard, we also came across the Dark Room, a store that sells a wide variety of camera accessories of film, lenses, cameras and other electronic products.
For those with a serious sweet tooth, you can find all your favourite treats at Superstar candies.
And don't forget to get some popcorn from Pops too! Best popcorn I've ever tasted.
Aside from checking out all the stores, I got a little starstruck when I met a few of the star characters. To name a few, Winnie Woodpecker, Kung Fu Panda’s Po and Frankenstein created a commotion when they appeared on the streets to greet people of all ages.

Our World - Universal Studios Singapore (USS)
This is the first Universal Studios I've been to and glad it didn't disappoint me. Although I find the theme park's layout rather small, it's the best experience rolled into one. There are plenty of street entertainments, thrilling rides and other attractions that can keep you busy all day.
The theme park consist of seven unique themed zones based on hit blockbuster movies and TV shows which include Hollywood, New York, Sci-Fi City, Ancient Egypt, The Lost World, Madagascar and Far, Far Away.
We arrived there right in time when it opened at 10am but as expected, there were long queues at the ticket booths. While waiting for my hubby to collect ticket passes, I spent my time wandering around shooting anything that interests me.
Here is the famous spinning globe, one of the most photographed icons in any Universal theme park. It was a weekday when we visited USS and the park was packed with tourists throughout the day.
This was taken not too far from the Sentosa's casino. I love the intricate details of the roof.
Same spot but different time as we exited from the USS at night.
Colourful Merlion greeting visitors
The gift shops are set up with creative themes and decorations. Here is one of them.
And there's Hershey's and Reese's calling out my name and enthusiastically waving at me. How cool. :)
