PhotoHunt - Fall Colours

The colors of fall foliage are always so beautiful. Here are some photos captured during my recent visit to Mt Sorak in South Korea.

Back from trip

Sorry for no posts lately.  I recently returned from a few weeks of traveling in Singapore and South Korea.  Over the upcoming weeks, I'll be posting photos  of my beautiful moments  in Korea featuring interesting places, food and characteristics I enjoyed.

Back to work tomorrow....the fun always has to come to an end.  :(

Below are some of my favourite photos from my recent getaway. Enjoy.

PhotoHunt - Empty, Water

Anyone who's been to Venice will recognize familiar scenes like these. Here are a few of my favourite collections.

And here at the Danish pavilion in Shanghai Expo, an interactive fountain where the walls of water rise and fall either trapping the people or allowing them to escape. If you're fast enough, it's still possible to get in and out of it while remaining perfectly dry. A cool spot to beat the heat and it's a battle between getting myself wet but NOT getting my camera wet.

OurWorld - Street scenes in Rome

When I travel to foreign places, I enjoy seeing what normal streets look like in other cities, behind the usual tourist attractions. Featured today is Rome, extremely rich in history and architectural beauty.

It's a great ancient city to explore and get lost in its charming narrow streets and alleys.

I had fun browsing through the stores for souvenirs.

Everywhere in the street corner is populated with lots of these vendors. It's interesting to observe people engaged in their daily routines.

More often, you'll encounter many of this kind of artistic artwork throughout  Rome.

Here's one of the many lady beggars hoping for donation from kind strangers.

Some of the amazing buildings and endless rows of Roman columns built back then to glorify Rome and its empire.

Modern gladiators haunting the streets. For a fee tourists can get their picture taken with a costumed centurion.

And here's a large crowd of Romans and tourists gathering and relaxing while enjoying the cool evening breeze outside the Colosseum.

Penang Street Art

I've been extremely busy with my house renovation and decoration lately so I apologize for not being able to keep my blog updated and visit you. Despite my hectic schedule, I managed to take some time off and checked out some of the street murals in the city on this occasion.

DSC_6489
This art piece, depicting a real bicycle and two children painted to look as if they are riding on it, is part of the Mirrors George Town street art project designed by international artist Ernest Zacharevic for the George Town Festival 2012.

It has since become a hit with tourists and locals who enjoy posing for pictures with the mural.

As we made our way off Armenian Street into Ah Quee Street, we discovered another cool art piece depicting a boy on a bike.

DSC_6553
At a different corner, here's one featuring a boy standing on tiptoes on a chair at Canon Street.

It's really cool to see some people interacting with the artwork and expressing their own creativity.

From the many different murals across the streets to the large-scale depiction of a trishaw rider at Upper Penang road, these new attractions are definitely drawing the crowds.

I find such artwork amazing and inspiring and I think they are a great way to represent the spirit of community and artistic impression in George Town.
