Shanghai, like many big cities, comes alive with a riot of multi-coloured lights when night falls. Here are a few night scenes captured at Nanjing Road.
The entire road is filled with LED advertising signs, billboards and huge TV screens.
It brings colorful life to the storefronts of Shanghai's busiest shopping district.
I spent a lot of time wandering around the streets starting from East Nanjing pedestrian street, heading down the Bund and ending at People's Park and that absolutely zaps my strength and energy.

ReplyDeleteI love photographing night lights. I can imagine myself photographing non stop in the middle of these scenes.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos. Happy weekend.
I find it interesting that so much of the advertising text is in Chinese but the big photo is of a distinctly non-Chinese looking model...

ReplyDeleteFascinating night pictures. Can't help it but think about the electricity bill, sorry! great combination of both themes.

I don't know if I like it or not. Colourful, vulgar and yet...
ReplyDeleteI like the neon advertisements. I admire those in Hong Kong but didn't know Shanghai has them as well. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNice capture of the nightlife. I, too, was here during the day and did not see all those neon signs lit up. I enjoyed my time in Shanghai and wished I could have stayed longer.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to China! B has been to Shanghai before though, for work purposes.. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your night pictures. Not only are they freaking super clear but I an see the lights clearly without them going blur...seriously need to get a new camera la me.. :(
ReplyDeleteBUT.. I will not get a new camera for now... will wait until we are ready to head for another awesome vacation, then I'll get a new cam ha ha... :)
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, just have to keep on using my Sony Cyber-shot, which def takes pretty awesome pics too but def nowhere near as awesome or clear as yours here! :)
