  12. Oh-oh that one has eyes. Wow so many shells I wonder if they dive for them or that many wash up on the beach naturally. Kind of cool how there are etched and the carved (drefitwood?) tripods are very clever. Makes me think about all the creatures affected by the Gulf Oil gusher guess there will be a lot of empty shells washing up somewhere covered with crud :(

  17. The polished ones are very clever, though I prefer them to be natural. That puffer fish, nobody dared to eat it?

  23. I never made it to the beach my one day in Santorini. After my donkey ride up the steep hillside from where our ship docked, I feasted on the best grilled octopus ever and marveled at the wonderful views!

  29. Tekkaus,
yes, those zodiac sea shells and puffer fish are absolutely eye-catching. i didn't buy any of them as they are too costly for my pocket. i was just a passer by who spotted a wide variety of sea shells at a souvenir shop and quickly took a few shots before i left.

    eileen,
as far as i know, the puffer fish are real. they are blown up, dried and sold as souvenirs.

    Mei Teng,
those baby puffers are fake. there are skilled craftsmen who create a number of fake specimens made of rice paste. the puffer fish is real though.

    tigerfish,
unfortunately, nope. if i've the penny, i'd have bought the entire store.

    Ann,
the puffer fish is waiting for you. LOL

    Auntie E,
nope, i didn't buy any. Happy WW!
