Our World - Charmsori Gramophone & Edison Science Museum

Desktop7
As the name suggests, this is a place dedicated entirely to gramophones and science. The museum comprising of two separate museums, Charmsori Gramophone Museum and Edison Science Museum, is the first and largest of its kind with a variety of valuable vintage and antique gramophones and Edison awesome inventions.

What I find truly fascinating is that most of these antiques are not just for decorations and antiques but are totally functional instruments capable of producing live music.

From another corner, I also came across these decorative light bulbs, one of Edison's greatest inventions. They are  completely operable and are bright as the day they were new.

Another not to be missed is the movie reels of the same era. Even after decades, I still find these magnificent pieces of early technology to be endlessly fascinating.

There are also various types of retro radios produced around the world from the 1920s to the 1980s.

Here are the many faces of the late Thomas Edison, his inventions and innovations, as well as historic artifacts from his life. He developed many devices that greatly influenced life around the world and I'm pleased that I had the opportunity to experience history and a chance to see inventions of a great inventor in this museum.

PhotoHunt - Peace and Tranquility, Quirky

DSC_6182
The seafront Eastern and Oriental Hotel (E&O) is one of the best spots to find peace and tranquility in the heart of Penang.

I used to spend my time here watching the sun set while enjoying the beauty of nature.

At a different corner of the city, there are several quirky art pieces designed by international artist Ernest Zacharevic that have gained attention far and wide. They make me smile whenever I come across them. They brighten up old, boring walls and here are a couple  of his quirky creations that I enjoyed most.

Our World - Ramada Plaza

DSC_7652
I stayed at the Ramada Plaza during our trip to Jeju Island.  This fantastic hotel combines warm hospitality with a lovely ambiance to make our stay in Jeju unforgettable.

This is the bright dining room that is wonderfully decorated in a tasteful and contemporary way.

The breakfast buffet was excellent which serves a scrumptious selection of food.

There are also palm trees lining almost everywhere in the premises and I thought they are a wonderful addition to the hotel.

The casino was awesome to say the least but of course pictures were strictly forbidden. I didn't win anything but was still excited about spending the next day in Jeju.

Here's the night view from our balcony looking towards the streets.

And this is our cosy room with double bed. It's great to be in a nice relaxing setting after a long day of walk.
