PhotoHunt - Caged

DSC00964
Such a lovely bird but it looks sad being caged. No freedom, no friends, no family.

This poor lonely creature was trying to run away from me as I walked by. It refused to even look at me and made a face.

It seems to say that animals should not be confined in any form of captivity. The environment alone is too stressful on them. I bet she would love to escape.

These photos were taken while visiting an old farm house in Bangkok a few years ago.

  2. I love birds. What I do not understand is, why this bird lovers put them in cage. Why cant they just feel good about these butiful birds in the sky.

  9. That's why I want a garden for my meows so they can roam around freely without me worrying they will run away or something... for now it's just all around the condo and they leave messy trail of furballs behind, poor me have to clean he he...

  18. Wow...I agree. Zoos great for public education BUT I worry about the animals. Even if they are cared for very well, it's sad to see them cooped up. You just KNOW their every instinct is against it. The bird is AMAZING though and I'm glad to have seen it.

I'm so excited that you are thinking about joining on on Project Inspiration on my blog! Photography would be a great addition- can't wait to see what you come up with;)

  20. It looks so sad and not much room with walk around. Always looking outside its cage yearning to be free. It's such a beautiful, yet unusual looking bird/chicken?

  22. Dear friends,

I've no idea what kind of species this is but I'm really amazed by the colourful feathers and textures as I look through my lens.

    ewok1993,
i have not visited bird parks in Malaysia for decades and although it's been available locally, I can't tell if i've ever heard of this species. :S

  23. That is indeed a beautiful bird. And yeah, sad to see it caged -- especially in one that appears to be on the way too small side. :(

  24. Poor bird being cooped up in such a small cage. She needs an enclosure that's at least a 1,000 times bigger, with grass and native trees so she can build a nest and have little ones :-).

  25. The bird looks magical. I can stare at it for hours.

  35. I totally agree, a cage is not the place for any creature to be, and that espcially goes for birds. I bet the poor thing is stressed out...
