Here's a Greek Orthodox church adorning a cloudless sky with a handful of daisies enjoying the soft gently breeze in Santorini.

  2. Fine picture! I like the colors of Greece. And now they bring back something of the summer which is gone...

  3. Bonza photo, we've still got grey and black clouds in the sky down here in OZ for another couple of months then with summer we should see the blue sky again :-).

  5. This is absolutely beautiful. I don't know which is the most beautiful -- the church, the sky or the flowers.

  10. What a gorgeous photo! That blue sky is stunning. What time of year did you go to Santorini?

  11. Hi Emm,

We visited Santorini in spring last March. The views from Santorini are some of the best you will find anywhere in Greece. Anytime of the day the views are awesome especially so when the sky is blue or at night when all the buildings are lit up.

  12. Wonderful photo. A cloudless blue sky, something that I haven't seen very often in London this year.

  13. March? Really? (I do believe you, it just looks so nice and warm for March!!). My 10 year wedding anniversary is this March, maybe I should think of Santorini. Was everything open or were some areas closed for winter?

  14. Hi Emm,

congrats on your upcoming anniversary. planning a trip to Santorini sounds like a fabulous idea. it's a romantic destination, especially for honeymooners and couples. you can refer to my previous post here for more stories and photos.

as far as i can tell, only a handful of hotels are opened during winter. The ferries crossing from Athens to Santorini would not be operating during this season, so i'd suggest if you check in advance before planning your journey.

i think the best time to visit the place is spring or autumn. they have warm days and pleasant nights. They're also less busy than summer, which makes them good times to visit.
