Skywatch - Moscow Onion Domes

Russian Orthodox churches are widely known for their distinctive onion domes. I’ve seen innumerable onion domes in my travels, but no one does them better than the Russians.

Here are some shots of beautiful domes with crosses against the spring skies.

  5. You take such beautiful pictures. I enjoy looking at them. I never really noticed the onion domes before but will now keep my eye out for them! My favorite is St Basil's ... love the colors. Thanks for sharing.

  6. Incredible shots. St. Basil's Cathedral is meant to be photographed, isn't it? So envious. Must have been a dream of a trip.

  16. Realised one thing that is in common about the 'onion' Domes where you can also find them in mosques and Buddhist temples known as Stupa.
