Friendly Dragonfly
I spotted this little fella perching on a fence the other day. It managed to sit still while I quickly ran inside the house to grab my camera. I set it to macro and snapped away.
It was staring intensely at me as I photographed it for several minutes. I think I have been lucky this round to meet a dragonfly that would posed for me.
It was spreading its wings out proudly to each side as if showing off. I was completely in awe at the sheer beauty of god's creation.
A co-operative model and I think it likes being the center of attention .

ReplyDeleteFantabulous May,
i've been using a Nikon D90 with a Nikkor 18-105mm lens for quite a while. Perfect for low-light conditions, travel, environmental portrait and general photography. :)
I love that 2nd pix pose of the dragonfly looking right to you. Damn nice and cool shot! National Geographic would have bought it!

ReplyDeleteSuperb shots!! Amazing that you did not scare the critter away. You should have captured it [literally] and rent it out to other photogs -- lol.
ReplyDeleteThis Dragonfly likes being the centre of attention. I like the unusual markings on the back i wonder if they mean anything in the Dragonfly universe, fantastic photos :-).
ReplyDeleteThat is the trouble with many kinds of insects the moment you grab your camera they usually vanished into thin air. "Wow were you lucky that this dragon fly decided to stick around to give you a good show"
ReplyDeleteGreat closed up pictures!
What fantastic captures! Looks as though he/she is posing just for you! I love it! Hope your week is off to a great start!
