Friendly Dragonfly

D90 034
I spotted this little fella perching on a fence the other day. It managed to sit still while I quickly ran inside the house to grab my camera. I set it to macro and snapped away.

D90 030
It was staring intensely at me as I photographed it for several minutes. I think I have been lucky this round to meet a dragonfly that would posed for me.

D90 038
It was spreading its wings out proudly to each side as if showing off. I was completely in awe at the sheer beauty of god's creation.

A co-operative model and I think it likes being the center of attention .

  4. When you find out, it seems to stick around at the same place for a while as if waiting for you to photograph them ... I had a few encounters like that ! reminds me time to shoot some dragonflies ...
The fractal like patterns are beautiful !

    Fantabulous May,

i've been using a Nikon D90 with a Nikkor 18-105mm lens for quite a while. Perfect for low-light conditions, travel, environmental portrait and general photography. :)

  21. This Dragonfly likes being the centre of attention. I like the unusual markings on the back i wonder if they mean anything in the Dragonfly universe, fantastic photos :-).

  22. That is the trouble with many kinds of insects the moment you grab your camera they usually vanished into thin air. "Wow were you lucky that this dragon fly decided to stick around to give you a good show"

    Great closed up pictures!
