The Taj Mahal has four minarets at the four corners of the main platform. They are all angled slightly outwards, so that in the event of collapse, they will lean away from the tomb and not on the main structure of the mosque.
One of the four exquisite minarets in one of the corners. Each of the minarets are more than 40 meters tall. All four minarets are beautifully designed with intricate marble work.
Happy weekend!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful indeed. And the story behind the Taj Mahal is also beautiful.
So lovely and amazing architecture.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I especially like the fact that it was laid with marble. The Mughal Sultan must be very rich to be able to afford such a monument.

It is a really beautiful building. :) Great choice!

Great photos. I actually like the one of one of the minarets in isolation because it's more unusual and makes me appreciate the minaret(s) more since when taken with the Taj Mahal proper, they're dwarved by the main building.
