Now they have invaded my garden again. Argh..... I found myself feeling ill as they squirmed and wriggled around in slow motion munching my plants. Trust me, they will easily eat the entire plant to the ground devouring the flowers and leaves, leaving a very unpleasant sight. These moth caterpillars are big eaters and they poop a lot too.
two caterpillars sitting on my hand. they are friendly and harmless. unfortunately, I don't like what they are doing to my plants
I tried to imagine them being roasted or stir fried with a bit of garlic, butter and basil leaves, but I just couldn’t stomach it. :D Since my mom has tons of these plants in her back yard, I'll let them munch the host plant until they are ready to pupate and change into beautiful moths.

ReplyDeletePretty soon, they'll turn into beautiful butterflies :)
ReplyDeletedora,
ReplyDeleteit's harmless and definitely friendlier than snakes of all kinds. :)
ladyviral,
ReplyDeleteit actually depends on what type of caterpillars. There are some very venomous caterpillars that can be toxic.
carver,
ReplyDeletemy mom planted those plants specifically for them. In a few weeks, we’ll have butterflies everywhere!
tiaras,
ReplyDeletethanks for visiting. Happy WW:)
hi mariuca,
ReplyDeleteI love the colours and the details on it. don't be terrified of them dear. they're friendly creatures.

I now they eat and poop a lot but they are striking! Happy WW
ReplyDeleteoh yea there are some. I remember having touched one and my finger got swollen. But that wasn't why I am disgusted with caterpillars.. I think it is cause of the craling thing >.<; Crawling babies are fine! lol :P
ReplyDeletejams,
ReplyDeletethey are striking beauty indeed. happy ww!
ladyviral,
ReplyDeletesome can be cute and fun to look at and hold but there are also some which are too creepy to touch.
Eeeeek! I geli caterpillars.
ReplyDeleteactually they're nice to look at, very green in color! maybe it's because your shot was good! anyway those will turn into beautiful butterflies!
ReplyDeletesome catepillars release a pungent liquid upon human contact. Do they?
ReplyDeleteI was just imagining how green goo would ooze out if I squish them @_@
ReplyDeleteSo scary! Creepy crawlies gives me the goosebumps! :O
ReplyDeleteThose caterpillars are so fat...and these crawlies are really creepy...eeks.
ReplyDeleteI won't dare touch them..hhaha.
*screams*
ReplyDeleteThese creepy crawlies are gross!
They really look cute and fat to me. It's just a pity they have to eat greens and they came to your place for that. :(
ReplyDeleteI hope they'll still stay around when they're butterflies :D
lina,
ReplyDeleteaiyo, that sounds so evil. no matter how gross they may look, there is no way I could squish all the little pests.
Race,
ReplyDeletethanks for the compliments. too bad i often miss the chance to witness the caterpillar emerge from her cocoon as a beautiful butterfly.
stan,
ReplyDeleteyup, they can actually release some mysterious brown liquid.
tigerfish,
ReplyDeletethese are timid crawlies. they won't bite youleh. :)
Mei Teng,
ReplyDeleteyup, those are big fat ones. they grew rapidly after infesting my poor plants. hehe it seems that nobody here actually dares to touch them.
ECL,
ReplyDeleteThat was sort of gross, but still cool compared to snakes of any kind. I still can't figure out how you actually hold the obnoxious snake around your neck. if i were u, i'll sure pengsan.
JL,
ReplyDeleteit's frustrating to see my plants being infested by these crawlies. fortunately, my mom feeds these pests. but i often miss the opportunity to witness the life cycle of a butterfly.
Ick! Nice shots but you can keep them off me!
ReplyDeleteOMG!! They are huuuuge!! I wouldn't even dare to touch them!! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors, it's so bright and green. Does it tickle when they crawl on your palms?
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice to see beautiful butterflies in the garden. It's good that your mom have those plants for the crawlers or should it be munchers?
Beth F,
ReplyDeletethanks for visiting my WW.
cashmere,
ReplyDeletepoor crawlies. it seems nobody here wants to touch them. :D
Ayie,
ReplyDeletethere's a little ticklish sensation but i love it. :)
although i like to see these cute crawlers or munchers, (whatever you call it), i dislike what they are doing to my plants.
Yeah, they eat up almost everything leaving an ugly sight.
ReplyDeleteI'm off for now, need to pick up hubs and make dinner.
Good morning to you!
Good night Ayie. enjoy your delightful dinner.
ReplyDeleteOHMYGOD! You're actually holding them? I'd run away screaming! LOL!
ReplyDeleteCreepy but the green one looked kind of beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNick,
ReplyDeletehow can a quirky Spaceman like you be afraid of anything in this whole wide world? LOL!
BK,
ReplyDeletebeautiful indeed. Nature is all around us. thanks for visiting.
haha so fat and cute!
ReplyDeleteyou must be feeding them well! =D
they look very healthy haha..
btw.. i dont think i'll dare to touch it.. lol =P
ReplyDeleteActually these caterpillars are quite cute, but my mom always call me to get rid of them too. Cos they can devour a plant in days!
ReplyDeleteI used to kill them with a spade, but nowadays, i just throw them into the drain, so they climb back up to my neighbour's garden. Haha! Sorry about that, neighbour! : )
