In the end, I went through a period of buying other colored clothes. I understand there are ways you can look slim and tall wearing other colors. But after sometime, I would go through my closet and often complain about having nothing to wear! Eventually, I’ve gone full circle and back to square one again. I actually feel much comfortable wearing black than any other color.
I came across some goodies which leads me onto sharing my latest object of fanciful desire of the moment. These are the top three of my favourites. Each of the black outfit is delightful on its own. Needless to say, I would need to be much taller and much slimmer for these outfits, but you know a girl can dream! Most of all, it's also a matter of knowing my limits, so I don't dress to irritate. :)

ReplyDeleteAlamak! Missed FC. Beaten by Mariuca!
ReplyDeleteYou are right about black clothes. Very good to create illusion of a slimmer body and perfect colour to match with any other colour! : )
ReplyDeleteI totally understand what you are saying. I think the strategy I follow is to not wear clothes that are too baggy but fit close but not tightly. When I wear baggy stuff I look like a tank regardless of color!
ReplyDeleteMariuca,
ReplyDeleteyou're fast, real fast. i'll hop over to your blog to get your code.
yeah, black always looks good. Long live black!
ECL,
ReplyDeleteI like and look good in black, but I do like other neutrals as well, especially creamy white and navy blue.
foong,
ReplyDeleteI love black and feel best in it.I even like all black outfits, as long as there is a lot of different textures and at least one non-black accessory involved.
Julia,
ReplyDeletei guess it has a lot to do with proportion and balance, so I generally strive to work on that when playing with colours. some items look better in black than in any other colour.
I used to love black colour too! But now I have tone down a bit! :D
ReplyDeletenow I prefer brighter colors! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLike you, I prefer black for all those reasons too.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite color is green, but my wardrobe consists mostly of brown and black. Very boring, kan? :)

ReplyDeletePreviously when I had not slimmed down yet I used to wear black a lot, but now I find that wearing some white is also good for me :D

ReplyDeletewell everyone has different tastes and preferences.
lina,
ReplyDeletei think Asian women look particularly good in black. Their black hair, black eyes and fair skin seem to really make the colour work.
kenwooi,
ReplyDeleteI like black and wear it relatively well. hehe
JL,

ReplyDeleteSame reasons as yours...i also came to that point,my closet looks dark because most of my shirts are black most esp my teen age but i have more colors now, it makes me look younger.
Oh hey! Guess wat? My wardrobe is 3/4 blacks too.. with a bit of white and brown. I guess I'm just not adventurous with colours and I'm a dull person... lol! ;D
ReplyDeletei owned quite a lot of black shirts as well. same like you, i now start to look for other colors instead. :p
ReplyDeleteAyie,
ReplyDeleteblack is a good wardrobe staple. I mostly wear black in the form of black pants or skirts for work. I try to wear brighter tops or add a pop of color with shoes or accessories.
cashmere,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear black works for you also, since I love black and it seems to love me. hehe
