PhotoHunt - Empty, Water

Anyone who's been to Venice will recognize familiar scenes like these. Here are a few of my favourite collections.

A view of empty boats in the Grand canal with San Giorgio Maggiore in the background.

And here at the Danish pavilion in Shanghai Expo, an interactive fountain where the walls of water rise and fall either trapping the people or allowing them to escape. If you're fast enough, it's still possible to get in and out of it while remaining perfectly dry. A cool spot to beat the heat and it's a battle between getting myself wet but NOT getting my camera wet.

  1. Nice views from Venice. I like the second photo, with the blue boats.

Have you been inside the circle with the camera?! You are courageous!

  4. Like a bridge over emptied water
I will lay me down..♫. The gondalas are so lonely. Oh testing of speed and timing as not to get wet by the fountain.

  8. Great shots for empty - amazing how empty Venice can look even when it is overrun with tourists.

  11. I love these photos! I really enjoy how you interpret these themes and should consider joining in one day but I'm never really good at getting myself organised!

  15. Very scenic! With no waiting passengers, I guess the gondoliers are on break. Those fountains are tricky, I think half the fun is getting a little wet.

  16. Nice photos! I see you have a very similar blog to mine - will definitely check on you again. Keep it up!
Every time I was in Venice I found it incredibly photogenic - it's almost impossible to take a bad photo in such a city.

Since you have obviously been traveling around my neighborhood... have you also been to Slovenia?
