Our tropical climate has several advantages. We don't need seasonal outfits, tourists from cold countries would flock to our beaches plus the high moisture content keeps our skin looking younger for longer. On the other hand, with the intense levels of humidity, it can be also uncomfortable for anyone. That's when air-conditioning feels like a life saver.
We have 3 units of air-conditioner. The latest unit we purchased features inverter technology that adjusts its cooling capacity to maintain a consistent temperature, increasing energy efficiency compared to conventional split air conditioners. Not only it saves electricity, it cools the room faster and inverter's compressor are more silent compared to non-inverter.
These days, most companies have introduced the full range of inverter air-conditioners to the market to meet the increasing demand for energy-saving and eco-friendly items in view of the deepening environmental crisis, resources and global warming issues.
Seems like we are not able to live without any air conditioner, and it hurts when we receive the bill.
ReplyDeleteMy mother could not live through a summer in West Virginia (USA) without her air-conditioner. And it is a temperate and not a tropical climate there. You only need air-conditioning during the summer months.
ReplyDeleteThe hot summer days that we have in Sweden are as numerable as the fingers on one hand, so air-conditioning is not as important as heating during the long winter months.
It was interesting to read about how the technology for air-conditioning is going forward in tropic climates, where it must help the well-being and preformance of everyone living there.
You are so early with your PhotoHunter-post! (I know it is because your time is different than mine.) But I've got to get cracking with my post! I'm doing this NaBloPoMo-challenge for November and have to post something every single day!
Hugs
Anna
That's an interesting take on the theme. I would have trouble without air conditioning in the summer or heat in the winter.
ReplyDeleteHaha.. that's one thing we really need in this part of the world. :P

We only have one unit at home although... I am seriously considering getting one for my home-office.
ReplyDeleteIt's just so hot nowadays but with two units surely high la my electricity bill. As it is right now so high edi! ;)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend sweetie!
ReplyDeleteGreat choice, I would not be able to function without ac in a hot climate!
ReplyDeletethanks for the info...i would pass it on to my family back home. we had to old air conditioning system which i assumed is not eco-friendly!
ReplyDeleteneat post!
I have to agree that our warm weather is still the best in spite of the heat and rain.
ReplyDeleteI don't like the cold and dry weather elsewhere.
air cond is truly a life saver when the humidity and the temperature climb! :)
ReplyDeleteWithout a/c hubby will be sick because he love cold air than myself. Great choice for today. Happy hunting!
ReplyDeleteHi Ramblings! How's your weekend?
ReplyDeleteI agree with the skin moisture part...since I moved here my skin looks like it aged more than usual. It's too dry here so i need to keep nourishing my skin with lotion which I hated back there in the tropics. I also miss the beaches!
goodnight from here!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I have an unit in my room, I am happy with my fan so far. :)
ReplyDeleteA tropical climate sounds nice today. We are freezing here in South Mississippi USA. ~S,S,C & F
ReplyDeleteWe don't have air conditioning at home. I guess we were pretty lucky that our place here are always cool and windy. But I can't imagine being without a fan! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a must have in my home. The weather can be hot like an oven.
ReplyDeleteYes I couldn't imagine living without an air conditioner in an environment such as yours...isn't it great that technology is such that we have that as an option....
ReplyDeleteYou are right, we here in Michigan, has many outfits depending on the season. This summer we only used twice our central air condition it was never hot.
ReplyDeleteMine is here PhotoHunt~ATM
It is so cool to see all the different takes on this theme. There is so much technology around us all the time we can't begin to think of all of it. This is a good angle on it.
ReplyDeleteic..that's cool..
ReplyDeleteWe have 2 AC's at home but we mostly use the one the living room. I don't turn it on until is above 75 degrees because the electricity bill comes through the roof! I go out after 5pm during summer, lol. Great post...
ReplyDeleteyeah the technology is quite advance for most of the electronic appliances now!
ReplyDeletewe have got 3 units at home too, but barely used since we are so used to the air/wind flowing through the house. :)
ReplyDeleteI prefer the fan, since air-con always make my nose stuffy! blame it on my allergic rhinitis.
ReplyDeleteOoh I like the younger looking skin bit.
ReplyDeleteIt's always humid here. And in summer it's hot! We need a/c like water!
