Doing my contribution for the environment, I try to bring my own bags when grocery shopping avoiding plastic bags. But seriously, I think more and more people should practise this initiative more often, if not daily. I keep some reusable bags in the back of my car, but the only problem is that I need to cultivate the habit of remembering to grab them along whenever I go shopping. Imagine if people consistently use reusable bags, eventually there will no longer have tons of plastic bags accumulating at home which are hard to recycle and that people feel sorry about throwing away.

I should really consider bringing my own grocery bag. I saw someone did that at the supermarket one day. Helps to reduce the use of plastic bags.
ReplyDeleteYour post serves as a timely reminder :)
This is a great take on the theme and the program to help the environment and help the poor is such a good idea.
ReplyDeleteI try to remember to bring my own bags to the grocery store but don't always remember.
Absolutely! I am a supporter of green efforts and own many reusable bags myself. I believe that if everyone can help to be green at work and at home, we can each do a little part to save the environment and the future environment of our descendants.
ReplyDeleteReally? Every Monday in Penang is No Plastic Bag day? Well....that is great. Wow! I didn't know there's such a campaign. :)
ReplyDeleteGood for you LR! I try to bring mine while shopping too. :) I don;t wanna kill this planet. :D
ReplyDeleteLet's do our part right LR! Let's heal the world. By the way your bad is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI have a few of those eco bags from Jusco. Because the bags can be folded, pretty easy to stash the eco bag inside my handbag. They are very useful not only for stuffing groceries, but for other things too. I even brought the eco bag with me to Japan! LOL
ReplyDeletegood campaign..will try to implement no plastic bags day at my husband's shop..
ReplyDeleteWe are doing it here since some supermarkets support the reusable bags and sell them!! which in turn makes people bring their own bags.
ReplyDeleteGreat take on the theme!!
My PH
I grew up going to the market and bringing my own bag. It is only when supermarkets started showing up that plastic bags came into fashion. We all have bags at home we can carry our purchases in so why not use that.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your green take on the theme. Happy halloween weekend.
Love your take on the theme and you've got some cool reusable bags. I keep them in the back of my car too. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteAn excellent idea. In ireland a tax was put on plastic bags. Their use plummeted overnight! Happy weekend
ReplyDeleteGreat bags! I always bring along my bags to the grocery store.
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend.
Great take on the theme and a great message.I also keep reusable bags in my car's trunk.
ReplyDeleteHong Kong has "graduated" to a 50 Hong Kong cents plastics bag levy DAILY at all major stores. There still are a lot of plastic bags around though... :S
ReplyDeleteThe recycling bags are getting more fashionable & colorful now!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. Help the environment. Have a nice weekend. CY
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I did for my post too. Great awareness program. :)

The habit is not there yet for us to remember to bring along the grocery bag. It needs time, but is good to have a stsrt.
ReplyDeleteI try my best to support the environment in any way but no matter how much we try to educate Malaysia, it's sad to see that many just don't care. Stiffer laws should be passed to make this happen.

ReplyDeleteCheck out my bags to see what I did with my cloth bags.
We use those bags here, too. But I love the idea of the no plastic day where the proceeds would go to helping others.
ReplyDeleteNice job. This can help the environment by recycling our plastics. :)

We've been using canvas bags for years. . . . great shot for this week's theme!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea - having one day of the week to be plastic free. My town is planning on banning plastic bags next year. Many of us are already shopping with reusable bags.
ReplyDeleteOh, didn't know Penang has "No Plastic Bag Day' every Monday! That's good way to promote awareness.
ReplyDeleteA lot of shops and hypermarkets now discourage the use of plastic bags. A good move indeed!
ReplyDeleteHi LR, we do the same thing here. We carry reusable bags whenever we go to the grocery. Am always delighted to discover someone else taking "Go green" to higher level! *hugs, girl*
ReplyDeleteHi LR! I love collecting paper bags or shopping bags. Some of them are so pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog, am feeling better today, hugsy! :)
ReplyDeleteI have some reusable grocery bags and I would love to have them with me when I shop but I always forget so I'm stuck with plastic bags most of the time.
ReplyDeleteThis is something everybody should consider for the good of our environment.
that is such a great practice, no plastic bag day, hopefully, that will redude the plastics that litter.
ReplyDeleteHow eco friendly :). I believe when I am with my husband next time, I will do that... can't do that with my mom, she will nag and nag and nag...
ReplyDeleteWow! Great collection to save the planet! Fun for this theme!
ReplyDeletesome groceries here will ask if you want paperbags or plastic bags and they also have reusable bags for sale. They also provide a special bin for plastic bags for recycling. I most of the time use platic bags because we recycle it for the trash bins at home.
ReplyDeleteI often reuse plastic bags, mostly as trash bags for my dust bins..
ReplyDeleteYou really have an interesting life story here my friend. Thanks for sharing. Really inspiring indeed. One must truly know how to recycle. Using paper bags truly is a big step to make a change.
ReplyDeleteYes everybody must be conscious of this to be a habit, for our dear earth. BTW, i love your header!
