PhotoHunt - Special Textures

A lovely hallway that welcome visitors at Seven Luck Casino in Millennium Seoul Hilton. All the lines, patterns and beautiful contrast of colours caught my attention. Each corner of the building has its own variety of special textures.

Our World - Chess Anyone?

DSC_0468

During my visit to Chapter Square in Salzburg, I spotted two men playing chess on this huge chessboard with people standing and sitting on benches watching them. It doesn’t cost anything to take part and you will always find someone who will be happy to challenge you.

PhotoHunt - Henna design on hands

Henna tattoo is one of the most popular attractions in the heart of Penang Hill.

Here's a henna tattoo being applied on a Arab woman.

Application of the henna paste using a ready made cone. I learned that they will fade in about 2-4 weeks, depending on the type of henna that has been used.

As evident from this picture, it takes a while for a newly painted Henna design to dry up.

All those beautiful swirling patterns amazed me and the best aspect of henna is that it is totally natural and safe. Someday I'd like to have my hands done like that for the fun of it.

Our World - Tangerine farms in Jeju Island

One of the attractive features of Jeju Island is the sweet tangerines that I came across almost everywhere in the city. The locals not only sell it as fruit but also have produced a wide variety of products which include orange flavoured chocolates, biscuits, perfumes and other culinary treats.

It was a beautiful autumn day when we visited the place and with tangerines in season, it’s hard to miss an orange farm tucked behind low stone walls, laden with thousands of oranges dancing in the wind. The oranges tasted sweet and sour, unlike the more bitter ones I experienced in Athens which are often used for making marmalade. It was fun to pick those tangerines and eat them fresh from the trees. :)

PhotoHunt - An Unusual Perspective, Lazy

A few shots during my brief stop at Feast Village, Starhill Gallery in Kuala Lumpur last year.  I think the lovely array of uniquely designed restaurants, pathways and ceilings create an unusual perspective of the entire place.

A great place to settle in for a lazy afternoon or even lazier evening.

PhotoHunt - Upside down, under

DSC_4511
I spotted this fruit bat hanging upside down under a lush forest canopy at Singapore Zoo.

 DSC_4505
It's truly amazing that they can eat, sleep, and rest in this position most of the time.

Occasionally, you got to see one flying around before moving to another branch, crawling upside down, and then wrap itself up in its little cocoon. How fascinating!
